Background

Jon Rosenthal is a mechanical engineer, four-term Texas legislator, and 25-year energy-industry professional. His career includes drilling-rig equipment engineering, deepwater technology, engineering management, and industrial safety. In the Legislature, he has served on energy-related committees and focused on infrastructure safety, utility accountability, and weatherization. He is running for the Texas Railroad Commission, citing his engineering, energy, and legislative experience.

Why I am running

I’m running because the Railroad Commission of Texas should serve the PEOPLE of Texas—not big-money interests or partisan bosses. With 25+ years of oilfield experience across Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream operations, plus legislative service, I bring the technical expertise and government experience to make informed decisions, improve efficiency, and put Texas families, businesses, and reliable energy first.

Top priorities

  1. Double the funding of the Railroad Commission
  2. Change the name
  3. Work with industry to weatherize our grid
