Thomas Smith, Republican, is certified for judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 3. The Ethics Commission form says Thomas C. Smith, with a treasurer appointment dated June 16, 2025, for the Court of Criminal Appeals, and no office held. The place number is blank on that line. The State Bar of Texas directory lists Thomas C. Smith, the name on the Ethics Commission form, as eligible to practice, bar card 24010409, with a Texas license date of May 3, 1999. On that page the attorney reports the firm as the Texas Attorney General, the occupation as government lawyer, and the primary practice location as Dallas.
