Greg Abbott, Republican, is certified for governor. The governor's office says he is the current governor, first elected in 2014 as the 48th governor and re-elected to a third term in 2022. That page says that before he was governor he served as Texas attorney general, as a justice on the Supreme Court of Texas, and as a state district judge in Harris County.
